Day 8: A Rainy Day Off in Brisbane
Weather Update: Mostly cloudy in the early morning with long periods of rain in the afternoon, a high of 24°C. The forecast predicts rain all night.
A Day Indoors
Today was a much-needed rest day, and with the continuous rain, it turned out to be the perfect time to stay in. The downpour kept me from venturing far, so I took the opportunity to make some necessary adjustments to my travel timeline, ensuring everything was in order. It's a meticulous process, but getting things right is worth the effort. Over the next few weeks, I plan to add photos and notes to the map, making it easier for you to follow along and catch up on my journey.
Blogging Challenges
Writing a blog and keeping it up-to-date is quite time-consuming. Today, I spent about 2-3 hours working on it. Adding photos and arranging them chronologically will take time, but it should get easier once everything is downloaded and organized.
Hostel Life
One challenge today was ending up with a top bunk. As a senior with hip replacements, I prefer the bottom bunk. Climbing up and down isn’t ideal, but I’m making do.
Upcoming Plans
Tomorrow, I plan to purchase my train ticket to Cairns, a 25-hour journey. I'm considering upgrading to Premium Economy for a more comfortable seat. Long travels like these can be tiring, so a bit of extra comfort would go a long way.
Reflections
Taking a day off to rest and organize was a good call, especially with the rainy weather. Stay tuned for more updates and adventures as I continue my journey north!
Travel continues to be a mix of excitement and challenges, but every day brings something new. I hope you're enjoying following along. Let me know how I can enhance your experience as we explore this wonderful world together.
