Day 5: Journey to Kotor

☀️ Weather Update: Sunny, High of 11°C

⛰️ Elevation Above Sea Level: 139m

After a relaxing day off to recharge, today marks the start of my journey to Kotor, Montenegro. The route involves a one-hour, 25-minute bus ride to Podgorica, followed by another scenic leg to Kotor.

Hostel Stay – Highly Recommended!

If you’re coming to this area, I’d strongly suggest booking at least three nights at this hostel—it’s an absolute gem. Rob, the manager from the USA, was incredibly welcoming and full of insights about the best local spots to eat and explore. He’s hoping to gain citizenship here soon, and honestly, he seems like a perfect fit for the place.

I also met Jennifer from Malta, who’s volunteering for a month. We clicked instantly, and I’m hoping to reconnect with her when I make my way to Malta later this year or early next.

I rated the hostel a solid 10/10 on Booking.com. Sure, no place is perfect—my only gripe was the lingering smoke in the air, which irritated my throat a bit (thankfully, I had my inhaler!). But the hospitality, atmosphere, and overall experience far outweighed any minor drawbacks.
