Day 3: Leaving for Thailand

Weather Update: Sunny, 27°C Elevation Above Sea Level: 174 Metres

No Photos: I haven't taken any photos today. Last night's photo of Jamie was a failure as he had his eyes closed. Why does that happen so often in photographs?

Early Morning Wait: I was up and about by 8:30 am, but spent the next 3 hours waiting for my departure from the TT Hostel. Jamie was restless, stretching his muscles and doing push-ups to relieve the tension of doing nothing. There are a few things to see in Vientiane, but doing tourist activities to pass the time can be disheartening. If your heart and soul aren't into it, you won't enjoy it. Jamie plans another adventure

Farewells and Departure: I said my farewells and left around 11:30 am to be picked up from the hostel down the road. I thought the train left at 3 pm, but it turns out my pick-up time from the hostel is 3 pm, so I'm very early. The train will now leave at 7:40 pm tonight. I managed to book the 2nd class lower bunk. Hopefully, it will be okay, but sometimes it's first-come, first-served. It's just the way it is here.

Surprising Border Crossing: I was greatly surprised by how smooth crossing the border over the Friendship Bridge into Thailand was. The train exceeded my expectations, especially compared to the run-down train I had coming into Thailand a month ago. I arrived at 5:30 am and found my way to the hostel.
