Day 1: An Unexpected Adventure in Bangkok
Early Arrival: I arrived at the hostel very early and managed to get to my bunk at 9:30 am, even though check-in is usually around 2 pm.
A Trip to the Chinese Markets: I decided to visit the Chinese markets. I found a bus stop and was told to take the number 3 bus. However, the familiar surroundings were not the same as before. Despite asking the conductor to notify me upon arrival, I was dropped off in the opposite direction. This led to a 14 km walk and several train rides to get back on track. What should have been a restful day using local transport turned into a disaster, but these unexpected moments are part of life on the road.
At Jack's Bar: I decided to head to Jack's Bar, a familiar spot from my previous adventure, to update my blog. However, I ended up chatting with everyone around me. This journey is about exploring life and meeting new people. I met a charming couple from India who have lived in Bangkok for 8 years and decided not to have children, considering this city the best place on earth. I also met a Swiss guy and a lovely older French lady, and we had an enjoyable time talking for several hours.
Meeting an Englishman: When I left, I caught the local bus No. 3 close to my hostel. I stopped by a bar to purchase something for later and ended up talking to an Englishman who rents an apartment here for a paltry sum of money a month. He has lived here for several years and married a Thai lady, which seems common among older men here.
