Hostel Review: Pristina Backpackers
Location & Accessibility
Pristina Backpackers is conveniently located within walking distance of the bus station, making it easy to reach. Depending on your arrival time, walking the 3.7 km journey may be a practical choice, as traffic congestion can make taxi rides time-consuming and costly. Arriving during peak hours, I opted for the walk at 72 years old I found it manageable.
First Impressions & Atmosphere
The reception is situated on the third floor and serves as a communal hub, featuring a comfortable lounge, a bar, and access to a balcony. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by Bledar with laughter and smiles, creating an immediate sense of belonging. The warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere make this hostel stand out as a space where travellers can easily connect and feel at home.
Rooms & Facilities
As a relatively new hostel, Pristina Backpackers is well-maintained, with no visible signs of wear and tear. The rooms are spacious, with secure lockers for each bed. The beds themselves are comfortable, and dorms include rustic-style work areas for those who prefer to work privately rather than in shared spaces like the lounge, balcony, or kitchen.
The hostel offers a variety of room configurations, including private rooms and dorms with 4, 6, and 8-bed options. Each room is equipped with heat pumps for both summer and winter comfort.
Common Areas & Amenities
The well-stocked kitchen on the first floor provides adequate seating for guests who prefer to prepare their meals. Shared bathrooms and showers are available on each floor, ensuring convenience for all guests. The entire hostel is kept exceptionally clean, contributing to a pleasant and hygienic environment.
One area for potential improvement would be the addition of more work-friendly spaces. While the dorms offer small workstations, a dedicated workspace in the common area could enhance the experience for digital nomads or remote workers.
Staff & Hospitality
The staff at Pristina Backpackers go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. They are friendly and highly knowledgeable about the city, offering helpful recommendations on what to see and do in Pristina. Their enthusiasm and dedication add to the overall experience, making it a truly enjoyable stay.
Final Thoughts
Pristina Backpackers is a well-run and inviting hostel that offers a comfortable and enjoyable experience for travellers. With a few minor refinements, it can potentially become one of the top hostels in Pristina. If I find myself in the city again, this would undoubtedly be my go-to accommodation choice.
